Hi! I’m Alexandra.
I’m a Chicago-based data person. I go by Lexie because life’s too short for 26-letter names.
Career Highlights
I fell into data during an early career in non-profit fundraising. I found myself my department’s resident database expert and loved tooling around in Excel. After a few years dipping my toes into the data pond, I decided to splash in with a role at the Equitable Food Initiative. I’ve formally worked in data roles for over seven years.
I’ve worn a lot of hats in my work life – and I gravitate to roles where I can juggle different tasks. I love roles where some days are immersed in coding tricky ETL scripts, and others are spent putting the finishing touches on a visual report, and others still strategizing a product rollout or a quarter’s worth of new projects. I’ve cleaned, managed, piped, analyzed, modeled, visualized, and strategized data throughout my career.
I’m a current grad student at DePaul University, pursuing a Master’s in Data Science. I’m grateful for the opportunity to dive deep on subjects I learned only the musts of to accomplish a specific work tasks, and I’m relishing the ability to immerse myself in both theory and application.
Check out my resume for a formal list of accomplishments, or my projects page for some school work I’m particularly proud of (all of my work for employers current and former is proprietary – class work gives me a way to showcase my skills!)
On a personal note…
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my wife and cat. I enjoy cooking, reading non-fiction, and exploring new wine varietals. Mostly, you’ll find me in the off hours curled on the couch with my family, working our way through some television.
